Joe Krajcovic is our May Member of the Month! Joe enjoys coming here for boxing training. You might see him in the fitness center doing some high-intensity workouts and core training.
About Lauri Ann West Community Center, Joe says it is a "great place to come" with "kind and helpful people". His hope is that people focus on health and wellness, with goals of strengthening their bodies and minds, rather than on the superficial, cosmetic side of working out.

And that`s a wrap on our A&E Pokémon Design Lab class! Instructed by Shannon Dailey, class projects included designing new Pokémon characters, learning to visualize action, collaging and layering action effects, developing core concept drawings, and evolving those into complex imagery, worldbuilding illustrations, trading card designs, painted Pokéball builds, and a final portfolio compilation. Our Wine Wednesdays program kicked off last Wednesday with an entertaining performance by Norman Nardini as the headliner and Marcelo Valletta as the opening act.
Weather restraints moved the event inside to the Alexander Family Community room, but that did not stop the fun. 70 friends joined us, and we were happy to see some new faces at the center too!
Lloyd Stamy, who, with his wife, is sponsoring the Wine Wednesdays program this summer, was in attendance.

As we celebrate our 10-year anniversary, the Lauri Ann West Community Center is stronger than ever. What started as a hopeful idea has grown into a vibrant community hub and true neighborhood asset – now supporting more than 4,000 active fitness members, a state-certified after-school program in high demand, and a welcoming gathering place with more than 130,000 visitors each year. Thanks to strong community support and careful planning, we are financially stable and able to maintain our facilities that bring people together for activity, learning, and connections.
With our search for a new Executive Director underway, we are excited about the opportunities ahead. Our dedicated and highly skilled team remains fully committed to serving our community and guiding the next decade of growth and community impact. Together, we will continue to build connections, expand horizons, and impact lives by providing a safe place for all to learn, play, and grow.
